You Did It!
Despite massive road closures, over 5,000 people gathered on the National Mall on October 22, 2011 to celebrate our loved ones, raise money for research, and take time to listen. Please visit our National Capital Area Facebook page to see the photos as they are posted! Special thanks to volunteer Pam Brooks who took hundreds of beautiful photographs--you are welcome to download them for free.
Thanks to all of your hard work, we are proud to say that we are well on our way to reaching our goal of $868,000!! Because of your efforts, awareness about autism is spreading and is bringing together more families affected by the disorder than ever before.
There is still time to hit your goal! If you couldn't make it to the National Mall, continue to mail in donations and use your online personal fundraising page through 12/31/2011 to count in your totals. Send out reminder emails to anyone who couldn't make it to the Walk or hasn't responded about donations to get any last minute dollars in. There's even time to plan fall and winter fundraisers with your team.

And the winner is...Design D!
Congratulations to Bill S. for his winning design concept. This design concept will be used on all event day tee shirts given to Walkers who raise a minimum of $150.00 at all of our
Walk Now for Autism Speaks events.
Congratulations also to Robert H. whose Design B concept was the first runner up. Design B may be used on an alternate version of the event day tee.
Thanks to your support there were over 600 votes cast to decide the winning design.
